well, seeing as you were NOT the *1st* correct entry, the Jury won't have
to argue over eligibility...............
The quote was from "Critically Acclaimed -The Case for OS/2 Warp"
cover story article in the last issue of the now defunct OS/2
Magazine.
In a recent newsletter, we published Phil's " how to run Pilot in WinOS/2"
anyone out there with Pilot that has exported/imported to/from Relish ??
and for those interested, a blatant plug:
New PalmPilotPersonal 512K BACKLIT screen $A490 intro offer till 9th May.
I'm quite tempted to get one myself, if I was sure I can sync it with
Relish.

My Yahoo Newsticker for OS/2
Reply-to: pminer4@uic.edu
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Yahoo! and its partner Netcontrols have released a Java version of the Yahoo!
NewsTicker. The Ticker provides a direct feed of the latest headline and
industry news, stock quotes, sports scores, and weather reports. You must
create your MyYahoo account before this ticker will work. This version of the
Java Ticker works on any Macintosh or OS/2 machine with Netscape 3.0 or above
only. (Netscape 2.02 should work).

HamClock 1.6 PM Clock that diplays local and UTC time.
Reply-to: rhasty@dialnet.net (Richard Hasty)
---------------------------------------------------------------------
HamClock 1.6 is a compact PM program that displays both, your local time, as
well as UTC time. This makes it easy to see what time it is in other parts of
the world. All you need to know is how far they are from UTC.
Some of the features of HamClock are:
Ability to hide its titlebar etc.
Auto stay on top.
Drag and Drop colors and fonts.
Ability to minimize down to its titlebar and display the time there.
New: Optionally displays the date when minimized.
New: Redesigned Settings dialog.
New: Now saves settings during system shutdown.
New: Can hide the frame when minimized.
This release also fixes a few bugs from version 1.5
Also I now use BMT Micro for easy registering.
You can find HamClock 1.6 at any of the below URLs.
ftp://hobbes.nmsu.edu/pub/incoming/hamclk16.zip
which should be moved to
ftp://hobbes.nmsu.edu/pub/os2/apps/clocks/hamclk16.zip
Or you can download it from my page

freeCiv 1.0i for OS/2
Reply-to: seawood@mail.very.priv.at (Peter Meerwald)
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Freeciv 1.0i ported to OS/2
Introduction
============
This archive contains Freeciv version 1.0, a free Civilization clone for UNIX
and X. This version only allows multiplayer games, which means you can't play
against computer-players.
The client is a X program which closely resembles Sid Meier's original. The
necessary Civilization server is included in this archive; up to 16 network
players.
Changes
=======
It was merely a simple recompile, I only had to turn on the ICANON terminal
attribute for the server to make select() work on stdin.
Requirements
============
* XFree86 3.2
* EMX 0.9c fix 2
* HPFS
Available
The OS/2 port is available in archive freeciv1i.zip from
ftp://ftp-os2.nmsu.edu/pub/incoming (finally placed in /games) or
ftp://ftp.very.priv.at/xfree/

A new midi netscape plugin
Reply-to: acp107@psu.edu
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Tired of the bleeps and bloops of your current midi setup. Want to have
WAVETABLE sound without having a wavetable?
Then you need to get the new midi plugin I have written called MIDIWAV. This
plugin turns your processor into a wavetable. It uses GUS compatible patches
and math to turn midi data into WAV format. It then plays the sampled data
through the DART interface. With this package you can enjoy high quality midi
while cruising the net!!
If you are interested stop by http://avenger.mri.psu.edu . Look under the new
Netscape Plugins section.

MP3 Software on OS/2 Warp (MPEG, movies)
Reply-to: malstrom@asimov.oit.umass.edu (Jason)
---------------------------------------------------------------------
With the recent explosion of MP3 software on OS/2, I decided to make a web
page that will try and keep up with the latest MP3 software. This web page is
not complete, since there are older programs out there I do not have list yet.
I will try and keep the information on this page as up to date as possible.
If anyone has suggestions, or knows of things I missed, feel free to contact
me with them.
http://www-unix.oit.umass.edu/~malstrom/mp3.html
This web page is part of a bigger web page I'm working on called Warp-Space 1.
That web page's intent will to help students at my school who want to use
OS/2, since the local computer resources are not able to. Other OS/2 users
might also find it useful. Warp-Space 1 will officially be announced at the
beginning of the next academic year.
