OK, some more good news/2.... and we have even more good news - but gotta
keep it a secret till end of month, I *could* email it to you - but then I'd
have to low-level format all your storage units - (to paraphrase a movie
line)
=============================================================================
All information supplied in good faith, BUT if it breaks your systems, you
own all the pieces...
Have you BACKED UP your SYSTEM yet ????
In case you didn't know, as well as the archive utility, you can use the
InfoZip's freeware ZIP/UNZIP to back up your entire OS/2 system & desktop
-(please DO NOT use *DOS* PKUNZIP for that) - Simply run the zip on the
command line for full syntax.
The line below will backup your d: system. [d:\]zip -r -S -$ ddrive.zip d:\
obviously this one zips drive d and puts the zip on d drive
My entire d: boot drive (about 150MB) compressed to just about 50MB zipped
file.
I recently suffered a crtical Trap "SI" on my WarpConnect D: system; luckily,
some time ago, Craig and Breckan helped me with zip'ing my entire boot drive
including OS/2 system, desktop, LAN, essentialy, the entire engine room, so a
simple command-line "unzip g:\ddrive" executed from the root of the destroyed
drive has me working again.
For those not too-technical, Trap "SI" is not only THE most common of cause
of system failure, it;s also the single worst enemy of any PC system. If you
haven't guessed yet, SI is of course : "Self Inflicted"

CryptStream etc Press Releases
'At last a secure file system for OS/2 ...'
CryptStream (tm) 'The Next Generation Data Security Software for OS/2' (tm).
Carbon Based Software announces the release of CryptStream for OS/2.
Release: Immediate List price: $119.95 Web:
http://www.carbonbased.com.au/csinfo.htm
System Requirements--------------------
CryptStream will function with any system running OS/2 2.1, 2.11, OS/2 Warp
Version 3 - Version 4 or later.
What is CryptStream --------------------
CryptStream is an easy to use cryptographically secure file system for OS/2,
based on Carbon Based Software's popular, proven and highly regarded
ZipStream (tm) compression file system product.
The CryptStream product provides transparent file based DES (Date Encryption
Standard) encryption in a very easy to use manner while providing the high
strength security needed to meet the demands of corporate users.
Data and applications can be stored in encrypted form using CryptStream so
that they can only be accessed again with correct authorization. The method
of granting access to files is by means of a logon to the CryptStream system.
Once logged on, CryptStream will transparently allow access to the encrypted
data and applications. Conversely, unless logged on, access to encrypted data
and applications will not be possible as CryptStream has not been authorized
to decrypt the data transparently.
CryptStream protects systems against:
* Information Theft * Privacy Compromise * Unauthorized Use
Features --------------------
* DES Encryption.
* Object Reuse Protection (deleted files are overwritten).
* Supports HPFS (High Performance File System) and FAT (File Allocation Table
- i.e. DOS) File Systems.
* Supports Diskettes and CD-ROM's.
