Subject: OS/2 news and our views...

Dear fellow OS/2 user,

Merry Christmas and Prosperous New Year.

First of all, we would like to apologize to the delays in sending out FaxWorks Pro
ver. 3; everyone who ordered should have received it by now. For some strange
reasons we have been short supplied, and nobody neither here nor in U.S.A. can
explain delays in obtaining more stock.

The good news is, Digital Solutions, the local Global Village distributor have
dropped prices on both upgrades and LAN version - we haven't received full price
list as yet -but it's about $15 cheaper for an upgrade copy - and new stock arrived
today!

If you have a LAN, check out the LAN version, it starts at about $800 for a 10 user
licence, includes DOS and WinDOS clients as well as OS/2 clients and server.

The LAN version CD doesNOT include sample REXX scripts and voice prompts, you'll
need to download these from http://www.kelleregroup.com

For those who have problems with recording voice messages, specifically, UNLESS you
terminate voice recording with an END key (* or #) you get 'error', we now have an
updated fax modem adapter we can email to correct that.

Last week, I went to the Interop show at Darling Harbor. As Symantec had a stand
there, I asked to have a look at the latest WinFax Pro 7.5. Honestly, as I walked
away from Symantec's stand and all I could think was I feel sorry for people that
have to use such a pathetic excuse for productivity app that Winfax is. A FaxWorks
Pro 3 user is light years ahead in functionality , performance, ease of use. Did I
mention reliability? By the way, the fact that WinFax crashed with " page protection
fa ult " did not affect my judgment, trust me.

Lotus cc:Mail WPS ver 6 is now shipping (finally) on the cc:Mail ver 6.1 /ver 7
CDROM. And, yes, it will now co-exist with Lotus Notes on the same PC (even if Lotus
Australia doesn't know about it).

And Lotus has been taking lessons from Corel: they started shipping Lotus SS for
OS/2 with, yes, Win versions of apps, and a coupon for native upgrades if(?) such
are released.

But it's not all bad news from Lotus: Domino *will* be available in an OS/2 version,
in fact, click here to download a beta of Domino for OS/2, NT, AIX,...
http://domino.lotus.com The GA date has not been announced yet.

QAPlus/2 for OS/2 arrived on my desk today.

Current PC Mag has a first look at Unite CD Maker. Current APC has NeoN3D first
looks and an OS/2 column. Current Your Computer has several OS/2 first looks (as it
always does).

It sounds sinister but is very, very cool >>thanks to Shaun L, the peeping tom, for
above tip<<
